Alec Baldwin's rep calls brief hospitalization 'a misunderstanding'
30 Rock star Alec Baldwin was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after his daughter called 911 from the actor’s Manhattan apartment, according to a local TV news report. (People says that WNBC News reported the event exclusively early this morning on Today in New York.) He was reportedly examined for more than an hour at Lenox Hill Hospital and then released.
The cause of his hospitalization has not been disclosed, but Baldwin’s rep, Matthew Hiltzik, indicates that there is no medical concern. “This was a misunderstanding on one person’s part,” Hiltzik said in a statement. “Alec was quickly released from the hosptial, he’s completely fine and will be at work today.”
UPDATE: People reports that a source close to Baldwin insists drugs and alcohol were not involved.
