‘Tis the season for political memoirs…or at least those about straying spouses. First came The Politician with its seamy stories about John Edwards. Now Mark Sanford, the governor of South Carolina who said he was hiking the Appalachian Trail when he was really visiting his girlfriend in Argentina, is also getting the book treatment. Here’s the rundown on both tomes.

Edwards Tell-All
The Politician

Who’s Dishing
Former aide Andrew Young.

Craziest Revelations
Young says Edwards and Rielle Hunter made a sex tape, and that the two cavorted at Edwards’ home when Elizabeth was away. Also shocking, Young divulges that the former senator thought Hunter was on a ”spiritual mission” to help him and that she had ”a special power to see into the future.”

Sanford Tell-All
Staying True

Who’s Dishing
The governor’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Jenny Sanford.

Craziest Revelations
The governor was a cheapskate who once commemorated her birthday with a drawing of half a bike. For Christmas he drew the other half; then, months later, he gave her a $25 used bike. And when she had to undergo surgery following four pregnancies, he sent her to the hospital…alone.
