Rupert Murdoch on Conan O'Brien: Show us the money

Rupert Murdoch expressed a strong interest in bringing Conan O’Brien to FOX, but News Corp execs admitted that no serious negotiations had taken place yet. In a media conference call discussing News Corp’s second quarter, the mogul said, “Certainly if the program-people can show us that we could do it, and be fairly confident of making a profit on it, we’d do it in a flash.”

News Corp’s chairman and CEO also suggested that 20th Century Fox will push for an Avatar sequel, but “[it] being Jim Cameron, I wouldn’t hold your breath for an early one.” Until then, fans will have to be make-do with a 2-D DVD, due later in 2010.
