Been thinking about getting into The Good Wife? You should. And now’s a good time to do it (if you’re not a Lost fan). In anticipation of tonight’s new episode (CBS, 10 p.m. ET), the network has crafted a handy midseason recap for the uninitiated. (It also, incidentally, works for devoted fans who again wanted to hear Josh Charles’ Will tell Julianna Margulies’ Alicia to call him if she needs “anything.”)

For the already-addicted, here’s what’s happening tonight, per CBS: “Peter’s appeal trial begins and Alicia defends a wealthy client in civil court whose innocence she doubts, even after he’s found not guilty in criminal court of murdering his wife. Meanwhile, Diane decides to take precautions when a felon she successfully prosecuted is about to be released from prison.” Juicy. Next week: “As Alicia defends a husband accused of murdering the babysitter, she and her family prepare for the outcome of Peter’s appeal and his possible homecoming.” What outcome are you hoping for?
