While Jamie Foxx, Tommy Mottola, and Jimmy Iovine have been rumored to be in the running for Simon Cowell’s throne, others have been publicly campaigning for the job.

La Toya Jackson

Michael’s sister gushed to TMZ that she would be ”thrilled” to show the public ”the real me.” Sounds like an FCC fine waiting to happen.

Christopher Ciccone

Madonna’s brother touts his ”infamous ‘Ciccone Tongue”’ as an Idol asset in a Facebook pitch. Again, we foresee the FCC calling.

Perez Hilton

No stranger to judging panels (just ask Carrie Prejean), the blogger has been making sly pleas in his pink-paged, Idol-related posts.

John Mellencamp

Though the online petition came from a fan, Coug’s own site calls him ”a far better singer, and, arguably, a better dancer” than Paula. Idol, didja hear that?
