Documentary filmmaker Larry “L.A.” Johnson has died at age 62 at his Redwood City, Calif. home, the Los Angeles Times reports. The cause of death was not immediately released. Johnson met Neil Young while working as a sound editor on director Michael Wadleigh’s classic 1970 concert film Woodstock. The two went on to form a close creative partnership, culminating in the release last year of Young’s Archives Vol. 1.
