The Hope for Haiti telethon that aired Friday night has raised $58 million, with more donations continuing to pour in. With that number, the star-studded event — which included appearances from A-listers like George Clooney, Reese Witherspoon, and Julia Roberts — has officially broken a record: No other disaster relief telethon has ever raised so much money. Additional funds are coming from the Hope for Haiti Now album, which has surged up to No. 1 on iTunes in 18 different countries. (The album boasts Friday night performances from the likes of Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, and Madonna.) Proceeds will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, the U.N. World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation.
