Inglourious Basterds was the big winner at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, winning the Best Cast and Best Supporting Actor trophies. Jeff Bridges and Mo’Nique continued their winning streaks, while Sandra Bullock bested Meryl Streep for Best Actress. With Oscar frontrunner Avatar completely absent from the SAG nominations, Basterds certainly got the biggest boost of the night after failing to make the Best Film cut at the BAFTA nominations earlier this week. But the seismic change of the evening is defnitely in the Best Actress race, where Streep, who’s been the favorite for months, is now finding herself playing catch-up to Bullock. I remember watching The Blind Side a few weeks before it opened and thinking, She’s a shoo-in…for a Golden Globe nomination. Now she’s created the most exciting major-category Oscar race of the year. On the TV side, most of the Globe winners (Glee, Mad Men, Kevin Bacon, Drew Barrymore, Julianna Margulies, Michael C. Hall, and Alec Baldwin) repeated tonight. Here’s the complete winners’ list.
