A Los Angeles judge says director Roman Polanski must return to the United States to be sentenced in his decades-old sex case, The AP reports. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza’s Friday ruling will likely be appealed by Polanski’s lawyers, who have argued that the director should be sentenced in absentia to time already served after he pleaded guilty in 1978 to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. Polanski is currently under house arrest at his Swiss vacation home.
