Ratings: 'Idol' dominates the night

Fox’s American Idol was far and away the most popular show of the night, according to preliminary overnight ratings. The Orlando auditions episode earned a whopping 26.8 million viewers. Meanwhile, the network’s new action series, Human Target, airing on a special night, earned a solid 10.4 million eyes. Elsewhere, CBS’ Criminal Minds and CSI: NY both drew their typical strong numbers with 15.4 million and 13.9 million, respectively.
