Average viewership for NBC’s The Biggest Loser was slightly up from last week. Its Tuesday audience swelled 25 percent from 8-10 p.m. to give TBL a strong finish, so any threat from American Idol competition from 8-9 p.m. was obliterated like 500 empty calories after an hour on a Life Fitness elliptical machine. Meanwhile, an encore of the pilot of Fox’s Human Target enjoyed a nice bump from Tuesday night’s winner, American Idol. The same episode of the hourlong drama aired Sunday night alongside the Golden Globes and drew in 10.1 million viewers, but its regular time slot will be Wednesday night at 9 p.m. The Jay Leno Show‘s viewership was up slightly from last week, perhaps thanks to its Loser lead-in and NBC’s recent late-night controversy. Downtrodden ABC series Scrubs (up 15 percent) and Better Off Ted (up 25 percent) attracted much higher audiences than their new episodes did last Tuesday.
