The White House has set Wednesday, January 27, as the date for President Obama’s latest State of the Union address, so it will officially not interfere with ABC’s final season premiere of Lost, as a nation previously feared. The broadcast networks should firm up plans for covering the event today; as the address will air live from 9-11 p.m. ET, Fox may plan the biggest move in switching ratings juggernaut American Idol to 8 p.m., according to the Hollywood Reporter.
