Country singer Carl Smith dies at 82

Carl Smith, the former husband of June Carter Cash, died at his Tennessee home, reports BBC News. His hit singles in the 1950s included “Let Old Mother Nature Have Her Way,” “You Are The One,” and “Hey Joe.” Smith acted in two westerns, The Badge of Marshal Brennan and Buffalo Gun, and appeared in over 200 episodes of the TV series Carl Smith’s Country Music Hall. He retired in 1978 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2003.
