Site of the day: World's Best Pet

We never turn down the opportunity to cover cute puppies here at PopWatch, so we wanted to alert you to this “world’s best pet” contest connected to the film Mine.

There aren’t that many entrants yet — although Gus here with his shades seems to be a frontrunner — so there’s still time to enter your pooches, kitties, and long-shot ferrets.

Mine is a really moving documentary about people who were separated from their pets during Hurricane Katrina. Be warned if you get weepy during those Sarah McLachlan ASPCA ads, this one will tug at your heartstrings.

The film is available on iTunes now and it opens theatrically in New York tomorrow; check out the Mine trailer below. And good luck to Gus and the other competitors.
