'Dear John' commercials make me cry so hard

I don’t remember completely losing it when I saw full-length trailer for Dear John, starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum — but count me fully impressed that a mere 60-second TV spot provided enough wide-eyed emotional terror to make me weep. During last night’s lineup of NBC repeats, I even had dual-side tears happening. I think the turning point — from “This is barely holding my attention” to “Oh s—, I’m gonna cry” is probably when the sad piano chords strike at 0:31 in the video below. “Just like that,” I’m a goner.

It’s so comforting. You don’t know what’s going to happen in the movie, but you do know that if you leave the TV on for the next 30 seconds, there will be tears at the end. Anyone else feel kind of great after crying at Dear John commercials? It’s so good to cry again!
