UK presenter Jonathan Ross has announced that he is leaving the BBC, according to the London Guardian. The broadcaster has been a mainstay of the Corporation’s schedules for over a decade but provoked controversy last year when he and Russell Brand left abusive messages on the answerphone of actor Andrew Sachs during a radio show. In a statement Ross said that, “Over the last two weeks I have decided not to renegotiate when my current contract comes to an end. I would like to make it perfectly clear that no negotiations ever took place and that my decision is not financially motivated.”
