Time Warner Cable and the Fox Networks Group released a joint statement today announcing the companies have agreed in principle to a new contract, ending days of speculation about whether Fox would remain airing in TWC’s 13 million households. The deal keeps Fox’s broadcast network, cable channels, local affiliates, and regional sports networks on the Time Warner Cable system without interruption. While no specifics of the deal were released, News Corp. president Chase Carey stated the agreement “recognizes the value of our programming,” while TWC head Glenn Britt called the deal “reasonable.” The deal also includes customers with regional cable company Bright House Networks.
