It’s proving to be a lovely holiday season for Ke$ha, whose Gaga-lite jam “Tik Tok” has just unseated Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” as the No. 1 song on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Ke$ha, you may recall, recently told the Music Mix’s Joseph Brannigan Lynch that she added a dollar sign to her given name after her (uncredited) hook for Flo Rida’s “Right Round” achieved a similar ubiquity: “It was number one in a bajillion countries and I didn’t have enough money to buy myself a taco…So it’s really just me taking the piss out of the fact that I was broke while being on a number-one record.”

Now that “Tik Tok” is a certified smash under her own name, let’s hope Ke$ha has enough money to buy herself many a taco. If you’re still getting acquainted with this chart-rulin’ newcomer, be sure to read the rest of our Q&A, where she spilled memories of puking in Paris Hilton’s closet, peeing in a sink at an awards show, and even a few that didn’t involve errant bodily fluids.

For maximum effect, listen to “Tik Tok” (below) on repeat while you read up. Then let us know: Do you love “Tik Tok”? Does it deserve to be the biggest song in the country? Will you buy Ke$ha’s debut album when it arrives on Jan. 5?
