According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Bryan Singer is returning to Fox to develop X-Men: First Class, the next installment in the movie franchise that he helped launch. Singer directed the first two X-Men movies before hopping to Warner Bros. to helm Superman Returns. First Class will serve as a prequel, depicting the teenage lives of the mutants (including new characters), the first meeting of Charles Xavier and Magneto, and the origins of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.
