Bestseller The Help is now being fast-tracked for the big screen, Variety Reports. Chris Columbus’ 1492 Productions is working on the project; Tate Taylor wrote the screenplay and will direct. The current bestseller by Kathryn Stockett is about wealthy white women and their African-American domestic servants living in 1962 Mississippi. Taylor, who grew up with the author in Mississippi, came on board the project even before the book was published. The filmmakers are planning a spring 2010 shoot in the South.
