First 'Robin Hood' trailer: Prince of Badassery

The first trailer for the Ridley Scott-Russell Crowe take on Robin Hood is out, and it’s exactly what you’d expect (in a good way) — Robin Hood-goes-Gladiator:

Is it me, or is this the cool-making filmic makeover Robin Hood has been praying for ever since he went all sappy back in 1991 with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves? Or did that darn “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” song cloud my entire memory of that movie? At any rate, I’m guessing there won’t be any Bryan Adams ballads mucking up this one. (Not that I didn’t swoon over that at the time like every other female between the ages of 16 and 100.) What do you think, PopWatchers? Are you psyched for a new leader of the Merry Men, or does this trailer have you missing Kevin Costner in his tights-wearing days?
