Roman Polanski's lawyer seeks dismissal in California court
According to Variety, the attorney for Roman Polanski is seeking a dismissal of the charge against the director that he had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in 1977. The lawyer made the request to the California state Court of Appeal because of “a remarkable, astonishing record of misconduct” on the part of the judge in the original case. The court in Los Angeles has not yet made a ruling. Polanski is currently under house arrest in Switzerland, awaiting the Swiss authorities’ decision on extradition to the U.S.
