A federal judge dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed against the Dixie Chicks, according to the Associated Press. In the suit, Terry Hobbs claimed that Chicks’ member Natalie Maines wrote a letter on her web site and made comments during a 2007 rally in Little Rock that accused Hobbs of killing his stepson, Stevie, and two other boys in Arkansas in 1994. U.S. District Judge Brian Miller dismissed the case yesterday, saying that Hobbs couldn’t establish actual malice.
