Ellie Greenwich was such a huge singer, songwriter, and producer extraordinaire. She crafted every part of her life around music and her passion. To write or produce for everyone from Nona Hendryx (”Keep It Confidential”) to the Crystals (”Then He Kissed Me,” ”Da Doo Ron Ron”) to Neil Diamond (”Cherry, Cherry”) and be so diverse — I know how hard it can be to successfully do that, and she did it effortlessly.

Greenwich died of a heart attack in New York City.
