Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Shrek the Musical) will adapt The Guardians, the childrens book series by William Joyce, for a DreamWorks Animation film. Variety reports that Peter Ramsey will direct the project, about a group of icons (Santa Claus, the Man in the Moon) who protect children from evil forces.
