Denis Leary's company plans slew of TV projects
Denis Leary and Jim Serpico’s Apostle Films is readying several projects to work on after Rescue Me ends its run in 2011, Variety reports. Projects include an hour-long comedy-drama at CBS which will star Michael Rapaport as a social worker. At Fox, Apostle has a half-hour comedy, Extended Family, about a family that takes in foster children. The company also plans to work with FX again on a drama about televangelists; and at Spike, Apostle has a hockey league project, and at USA it has Partners in Crime, about private eyes who used to be married, and Scales of Justice, about an overweight New Orleans ex-cop. The shingle’s deal with Sony also includes developing a new police procedural based on the film Gattaca.
