I bet you didn’t know that today was the day nominees for the Fido Film Awards were announced. Advertised as the dog equivalent of the Oscars, the awards showcase the best in movie dogdom for the past year. Nominees include the animated dogs in Bolt and Up, and the real-live retriever in Marley & Me. The awards themselves will be chosen by a panel of British film critics, and the ceremony will take place on Nov. 22 in London. Here’s a thought: Perhaps these awards should be folded into the actual Oscar telecast. After all, would you rather see another production number…or more puppies? (Choose puppies! More puppies!) Who was your favorite four-legged star of the past year, PopWatchers?
