Shrek the Musical will present its final Broadway performance on Jan. 3, 2010, DreamWorks Theatrical president Bill Damaschke announced today. The Tony Award-winning production—which is based on the William Steig book Shrek! and the animated film Shrek—will end its year-long run at the Broadway Theater after 441 performances. Grosses for the pricey musical have been diminishing since summer’s end, according to the AP.  A national tour commences July 13, 2010 at the Cadillac Palace Theater in Chicago.
