Regardless of whether you’ve heard of Giulio Andreotti, the dark prince of Italian politics from the ’70s to the ’90s, you’ll recognize the type: Think Richard Nixon with a hunchback and a better tailor. Il Divo, Paolo Sorrentino’s stylish look at the banality of corruption, might be a bit hard to follow at times (unless you subscribe to la Repubblica), but it’s worth the effort. The skippable EXTRAS are generous (a making-of doc, deleted scenes, an interview with the director), but they don’t go deep enough. B+
