Mark Wahlberg has signed on to star in a remake of the award-winning Icelandic thriller Reykjavik-Rotterdam, according to Variety. The original film, which is Iceland’s foreign language submission for next year’s Academy Awards, tells the story of a freight ship worker who is fired for smuggling alcohol and becomes a security guard, only to be roped back into one last criminal scheme by his best friend. Wahlberg will also produce the film.
