Lady Gaga

It may be some time before we get a full explanation for yesterday’s cancellation of Lady Gaga and Kanye West’s co-headlining “Fame Kills” tour. Is this about Kanye wanting to take time off from performing? Were ticket sales not living up to promoters’ expectations? Some combination of the two? In the meantime, though, here’s a more immediate question: Now that her split bill with Kanye has been called off, who else should Gaga tour with?

After all, regardless of what happened with the “Fame Kills” plans, presumably there are still a lot of people out there who would like to see Lady Gaga in concert this fall. So who could it be? I’ve heard suggestions along the lines of Mika or the Scissor Sisters, either of whom would likely appeal to Gaga fans looking for over-the-top pop spectacle. Personally, I’d like to see her sharing a stage and some wild house beats with Basement Jaxx. Bills like these might not be able to fill the stadiums that “Fame Kills” was set for, but I’m sure they’d sell decently well. Or maybe Gaga could just go all-out and book some dates with an even bigger star like Kylie Minogue — sure, Kylie’s already on a U.S. tour of her own, but that’s no reason not to dream, right?

Surely you have some even better ideas in mind. Do you think Lady Gaga should hit the road this fall despite the demise of “Fame Kills”? Who do you think she should take with her, if so? Speak up in the comments below.
