Whether he’s posing as a celebrity, outsourcing his chores, or adhering strictly to the Bible, we love reading about the wacky lifestyle experiments of author — and ex-EW staffer — A.J. Jacobs. We asked his wife, Julie (another EW alum), how she can stand to live with him.

Does A.J. drive you crazy?
He gets letters from fans that say ”Your wife is a saint.” But I enjoy his quirkiness.

Are you used to his antics now?
There was a time when I came home and he had a chastity belt on. I said, ”Huh.” He said, ”That’s it?” And I said, ”After 10 years, you can’t shock me anymore.”

Have you ever vetoed an idea?
Taking on a second wife. Also, he once wanted to communicate only through technology. I was like, ”You’re not going to my niece’s bat mitzvah via videophone.”

Have you ever made him stop an experiment early? You know what? I don’t think I have. Maybe I am a saint.
