¡Arriba! New Jersey’s beloved alt icons return next Tuesday, September 8, with their 16th album, Popular Songs, on Matador. Guitarist Ira Kaplan, drummer Georgia Hubley and bassist James McNew have now been putting the Yo La in your Tengo for twenty-five years, which means, in etiquette terms, that you owe them at least a sterling gravy boat, or perhaps a nice keychain.

Instead, the band come bearing gifts of their own, in the form of a new video. And while some leaks from Popular — like the fruit-porny “Periodically Double or Triple” — have already hit the interweb, “When It’s Dark,” below, is both unheard and unseen until now.
