E!’s new series, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, a spin-off of the network’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, premiered last night and, um, it was not good. I’m a big fan of Keeping Up… but this new show, featuring the titular sisters moving to Miami for the summer, just felt flat and forced. A big part of the appeal of Keeping Up… is that the Kardashian clan is so huge it can sustain multiple storylines. Focusing on just Kourtney and Khloé, on the other hand, yielded few interesting moments, perhaps because the first episode focused on the girls opening a new outpost of their store, Dash, and Khloé getting a radio gig. I can’t think of two less visually and/or dramatically exciting jobs than retail or radio, and I say this as someone who had a stint at Urban Outfitters shortly after college. Newsflash: folding and hanging clothes rarely results in high drama. I’m not ashamed to admit I changed the channel in the middle of the premiere. How about you? And will you tune in for episode 2?
