Jon & Kate: He Said, She Said… Enough Said
Unless you’re lucky enough to have taken up residence under a rock (and if so, please tell us where that rock is), you’ve likely spent this past week avoiding Jon and Kate Gosselin’s ongoing, very public divorce battle. In the latest chapter, an unusually reserved Kate appeared on NBC’s Today on Aug. 10 in her first major TV interview since the couple announced their split. In addition to denying that she instigated the breakup, Kate chided her brother and sister-in-law, who she claims are cashing in on their interviews: ”They decided to take their ‘fame’ and make money off my children.” (Oh, the irony.) Jon was set to offer his rebuttal on E! that same night, but at the last minute, the sit-down was scrapped with no explanation. (Despite speculation that TLC, home to Jon & Kate Plus Eight, pulled the plug on the interview, the network had no comment.) Meanwhile, the tabloids aren’t the only ones making money off of the drama: Buycostumes.com has logged more than 1,000 preorders for its ”Eight Is Too Much” wig ($14.99, available in October). No word yet on a Jon costume, but may we suggest an Ed Hardy tee and a young blonde?
