A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has given the go-ahead to produce a feature-length film including footage of Michael Jackson’s rehearsals for his “This Is It” tour, the Associated Press reported today. The deal between Jackson’s tour promoter AEG, Columbia Pictures, and the late singer’s estate means a movie featuring Jackson’s rehearsals, as well other video intended for the concert, will be in cinemas on October 30, Sony added. The film will also include sequences in 3-D, Sony said.

The ruling may not end the legal wrangling over the footage of Jackson in his final days, however, as Jackson’s mother Katherine reportedly would like to negotiate better terms with AEG.
