Got a sweet tooth for sexy-but-scorned psycho trash like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, The Temp, and Fatal Attraction? Well, you’re in luck. Sort of. Obsessed busts its hump trying to be a postracial entry in the genre, but mostly it’s just kind of a bust. The Office‘s Idris Elba plays a bland finance whiz with ?a new house, a new son, and a sassy wife (Beyoncé Knowles) waiting at home. But when Ali Larter’s unhinged blond temptress joins his firm, Elba’s dreamy life becomes a nightmare. If that last sentence sounded like a cliché, wait until you start watching this thing. Larter cribs virtually every last ?tic and twitch from Glenn Close’s ”I will not be ignored” bunny boiling playbook. At least she seems to be having a blast in her climactic, hair-pulling catfight with Sasha Fierce (which is nicely dissected in the EXTRAS). C+
