Madonna visits those affected by stage accident in Marseille, France
Madonna arrived in Marseille, France, on July 19 to visit the family of a 53-year-old lighting technician who was killed on July 16 after the stage set for the singer’s concert collapsed, according to People.com. The accident also killed a 23-year-old man from Great Britain and hospitalized at least eight other workers, many of whom the singer visited at two nearby hospitals. “My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families,” Madonna said in a statement last week. The singer was scheduled to perform at Marseille’s Velodrome, a 66,000-seat venue, on July 19. That show has since been cancelled.
