Residents of Santa Barbara can breathe easy, at least for now: According to the AP, a family spokesperson has said that while a public memorial for Michael Jackson is in the planning stages, it will not be held on Friday at the late singer’s Neverland Ranch, as reported earlier. Details are also still pending on how Jackson’s body would be transported from Los Angeles to Neverland, as well as the legality of burying him at the ranch — the state of California considers interring any uncremated remains outside of a cemetary to be a misdemeanor.
