Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt give $1 million in refugee aid
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation, donated $1 million to the UN Refugee Agency Wednesday to help displaced people in Pakistan, People.com reports. Antonio Guterres, the head of the agency, thanked the foundation and called the situation in Pakistan “the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade.” Jolie has worked with the UN agency for eight years. Pitt and his siblings gave $1 million this week, too, to create the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center in Springfield, Mo., in honor of their mother. Jolie will celebrate World Refugee Day in Washington, D.C., on Thursday with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
