Adam Lambert finally confirms his sexuality in the new issue of Rolling Stone. Yes, it turns out the American Idol contestant is gay. The issue hits stands this week, but RollingStone.com already has some excerpts up. “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay,” Lambert says in the interview, adding, “I’m proud of my sexuality…I embrace it. It’s just another part of me.” Just don’t call him a poster boy, Lambert urges in the piece: “I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader.”

What do you think, Music Mixers? Is anyone out there remotely surprised by this news? And what do you make of the snake-enhanced RS cover photograph?
