Paul Haggis has signed on to direct and write The Next Three Days, an adaptation of the 2008 French film Pour Elle Variety reports. The movie revolves around a happily married man and woman who find themselves in a predicament after the wife is accused of murder. It will mark Haggis’ return to collaborating with Lionsgate, which bought the rights to the film. Haggis’ previous Lionsgate endeavor, Crash, won Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay and earned Haggis a Best Director nomination.
