Lost‘s quirky physicist was shot to death by his mother, Eloise Hawking, 30 years in the past. Faraday — whose experiments were funded by his father, Charles Widmore, and involved transporting consciousness through time — had hoped to detonate a hydrogen bomb that would theoretically rewrite the future, thus preventing the crash of Flight 815. He is survived by his journal, which contains various space-time scribblings.
