He may be newly engaged, but true love can’t take the edge of off Mr. Trent Reznor, ladies and gentlemen. When asked in a recent fan Q&A whether he had a backlog of unreleased NIN material, the Nine Inch Nails frontman replied replied, in part:

“I’m not Prince or Rivers Cuomo, who brags about having hundreds of great songs. And to that I would say, ‘Prince, if you have a hundred great songs or a thousand, how about picking a few and putting them on your record that you’ve put out, because your last several have sucked.’ Same for you, Rivers. I say that constructively, you know.”

Them’s fightin’ words, Trent! Then again, we’re talking about the guy who, back in March tweeted “You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell’s record? Jesus.” So, not a shy one, our Reznor.

But what do you think, readers? Is that a fair assessment of the recent output from the Purple One and the Weezer One, or just a random bitchfest on the rock-star playground?
