Maybe it’s because it’s May Sweeps, which makes me think of showrunners losing their minds. Or maybe it’s because I just saw that Hulu is currently hosting the first four seasons of NewsRadio and had to immediately watch “Space” (embedded below) and “Sinking Ship” (embedded after the jump). Regardless, it feels like a good time to list our favorite bats—crazy one-off TV episodes. I’m talking about episodes that were so different from what fans normally tuned in for that there almost needed to be an on-air introduction explaining to them what they were about to see. You might recall that NewsRadio‘s Phil Hartman actually did address viewers at the start of those aforementioned episodes, which randomly (absurdly, gloriously) set the show in outerspace and on the Titanic.
