David Hayter, who co-wrote Watchmen with Alex Tse, has formed Dark Hero Studios with producer Benedict Carver (Doomsday). The company will focus on creating film, TV,Internet and videogame projects in the action, sci-fi and horror fields. “Many people would love to have the studio-based producer gig, but ifyou want to build asset value through a library, you have to be moreentrepreneurial and avoid giving away a lot of rights upfront,” Carver told Variety. Dark Hero’s slate begins with Demonology, a flick Hayter penned — and will direct — based on his experience going to an international high school in Japan.
