That sound you hear is me squealing in delighted anticipation at the thought of a new Radiohead album after reading what guitarist Ed O’Brien just told the BBC: “We are working on new material…We’ll be doing some more recording. It’s business as usual.” Yes, business as usual, which in Radiohead’s case means making mind-blowingly awesome music every time they pick up their instruments. Of course, the band has been teasing us superfans for months with talk of a possible follow-up to 2007’s In Rainbows, and we likely have a long wait ahead. With Thom Yorke and Co. busy rehearsing for a South American tour at the moment, there’s no indication that they’ve moved past the songwriting phase yet and actually gotten down to brass tacks in the studio. Whatever! It still made my morning to learn that their recording plans remain on. Maybe they’ll even debut a new song or two in Sao Paulo or Santiago. I can dream, right?

In the meantime, we’ll have to content ourselves with watching some fun behind-the-scenes footage of Radiohead rehearsing with the USC marching band before the Grammys, which hit the web this week. Press play below.

We can also devour the band’s periodic blog posts, like the one today in which Thom asked readers to “wish us all a safe journey if you still like us and you’re not one of those people i have managed to offend by doing nothing.” (Kanye/Miley BURN!) Anyone else counting the minutes til we get to hear Radiohead’s next move?
