'Saturday Night Live' fashion: Do you want a nautical-themed pashmina afghan?
We know you do, since one of you wrote into Style Hunter after the hilarious Saturday Night Live digital short “I’m on a Boat” aired to ask where you could get your very own anchor-adorned neck warmer. Well, our Style Hunters dutifully took up your cause, following the trail all the way back to Andy Samberg’s personal team. They were kind enough to inform us that, as it turns out, you can’t buy Andy’s nautical-themed pashmina afghan…but if you’re super-crafty, you could whip up your own. To make his key accessory, stylists Mila Gonzalez and Max Pierre bought a navy pashmina from $10 boutique Bijoux Terner and picked up the anchor patches from a costume shop, sewing them on only after Andy put on the pashmina so they’d be in exactly the right place for the shot. Really.
So now that we’ve impressed the sailor pants off of you, check out Style Hunter to see all the other cool things we track down for EW readers, and send in your where-can-I-find-that requests to firstname.lastname@example.org. Just please don’t write us asking for the mermaid.
