A confidential settlement was reached on Wednesday in a legal dispute over Heath Ledger’s $10 million life insurance policy, the Associate Press reports. The late actor’s 3-year-old daughter and beneficiary, Matilda, is now due to receive some funds. An attorney for Ledger had filed a complaint last year, claiming that the Oscar-nominated Dark Knight star’s insurance company was refusing to pay due to concerns that Ledger’s January 2008 death was a suicide; a coroner had ruled that Ledger passed away from an accidental prescription drug overdose. Both sides are said to be pleased with the new deal.
