Nazneen (Tannishtha Chatterjee) was just a teen when she left Bangladesh for an arranged marriage in London. The frequent flashbacks to her idyllic youth?frolicking in fields, splashing around in the rain — tell us how much she misses home. But there’s little else to indicate an inner life. And Brick Lane‘s story, adapted from Monica Ali’s 2003 novel, feels bloodless. EXTRAS Commentary, cast ? interviews, and deleted scenes, including another flashback called — of course! — ”Children running through village.” B?
